Netflix continues to expand its Nordic film slate with a gripping new World War II historical drama based on true events. Here’s everything we know about it Swedish connection (known in Sweden as you are welcome), arriving on the service worldwide this February.
Netflix has officially greenlit the project, a film deeply rooted in Swedish history that is set to offer a unique perspective on World War II. Directed and written by Jodi Therese Ahlbeck And marcus olsonThe film sheds light on a largely unknown story about a Swedish war hero during one of history’s darkest chapters.
The film’s duration is 100 minutes (1 hour and 40 minutes), Swedish and German are spoken in the film. It should feature an English dub and will definitely come with English subtitles.
The film is produced by Julia Gebauer, with a screenplay by Therese Ahlbeck and Markus Olsson. Cinematography is handled by Joachim Heiden, while editing duties are shared by Michael Leszcilowski and Joachim Pietras. The music is composed by Johan Testad and Caspar Kaay.

Netflix has confirmed the release schedule of the film. In addition to its world premiere at the Gothenburg Film Festival on January 25, it will first be released in a limited run in select theaters starting February 6, limited to theaters in the Nordics. It will then make its global streaming debut on Netflix on February 19.

Set in 1942, the film takes place as Sweden attempts to keep a low profile to avoid provoking Germany and risking occupation.
