It’s been a quiet few months for Nevermore Academy alumni since the dramatic finale of Season 2, but the wait for news is finally over. While Netflix has officially kept mum on specifics, a new production list has surfaced that gives us our best look yet at the season 3 schedule. We’ve known for a while now that Season 3 won’t go into production until early 2026 (with multiple reports suggesting a late 2025 start), and it wasn’t until November/December that a clip surfaced confirming a February debut with Luiz Guzman.
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming production start Wednesday Season 3.
New working title: “Briarcliff”
Production listings for high-profile Netflix shows rarely use their official names to avoid drawing crowds. For Season 3, Wednesday working under job title “Briarcliff” (specially listed) “Briarcliff S3”,
This is a dark Easter egg for fans of the franchise. That’s because Briarcliff Manor, NY, is the home base of the T. & Charles Addams Foundation, the organization that manages the legacy of cartoonist Charles Addams (creator of The Addams Family). It appears that the showrunners, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, are continuing their tradition of respecting the source material behind the scenes, too.
Previously, we covered that the production company and working title were something else entirely: Nightshade and Raven S3 Productions LLC and Willow Hill.
according to openbroly (a production and resource site for Ireland), these are the new production dates for Season 3:
- Preparation Date: 28 July 2025
- Filming start date: 16 February 2026
- Filming End Date: 22 May 2026
Now, we doubt that the filming completion date there is accurate, if so, that means production will only last 3 months. Much less than previous seasons, which typically took 8–10 months to produce. We would guess that production is being divided into blocks, although the listing suggests a continuous run, meaning this date could be a break or something. Stay tuned!
As previously confirmed, the listing confirms that production will continue Dublin and Wicklow, IrelandThe series notably moved production from Romania to Ireland for Season 2 to utilize locations such as the historic Powerscourt Estate,
as we did before reported, wednesday season 3 still aiming returns in summer 2027 on Netflix, which will undoubtedly be awesome news for fans of the show, but perfection takes time. This has been confirmed by Next on Netflix 2026 Wednesday S3 is not part of the slate for this year.
