Netflix has released the official trailer for the documentary, which showcases the emotional and technical scale of the final season.

In a statement, the Duffer Brothers explained that the project was born out of a love of physical media and the legendary behind-the-scenes access provided by Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth sagas.

“Growing up in Durham, North Carolina, we dreamed of being filmmakers – but Hollywood seemed impossibly far away. When we watched the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Lord of the Rings – movies made on the ground, showing the real nuts and bolts of how mass production really works. We saw how stressed Peter Jackson was and thought: Yes, that’s the dream.”

He continued, noting that in the streaming age, this level of transparency is rare:

“With the decline of physical media, the behind-the-scenes story has largely disappeared. We wanted to bring it back. One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5 – beautifully captured and directed by Martina Radwan – is our attempt to do just that.
