The “body search” is not over yet. 2022 Following the massive global success of the Japanese horror hit Memorization (karada sagashi), the terrible time cycle is starting again. We have learned that the much-awaited sequel, Re/member: last nightMaking its SVOD debut on Netflix next month.

Produced by Warner Bros. Japan, the film was released theatrically in its home country in late September last year. Now, thanks to Netflix’s ongoing partnership with the studio, international audiences will get to see the next chapter of the “Red Person” curse exclusively on the service, albeit under slightly different circumstances.

Last time, the film was actually labeled as a Netflix Original and remains on the service to this day, although we can reveal that its licensing rights will expire in 2033, 10 years after it was added on February 14th. Since its release, the film has garnered 29 million hours or 16.7 million views on Netflix globally.

We can confirm that the recently released sequel, Re/Member: Last night, It will be available to stream on Netflix in the US and select international territories starting Thursday, March 5, 2026. As a licensed title.

You’ll need to see the first film before considering this sequel, so be aware that what follows gives away information about the first film.

If you think running away from high school is the end of the nightmare, think again. The sequel expands the scope of horror, and takes the deadly game from school hallways to a giant, creepy amusement park.

The story begins three years after the events of the first film. The original film ended with Asuka (Kanna Hashimoto) disappearing with the loop broken. Now, a new group of high school students find themselves trapped in a deadly “body search” game at the Kijima Starland theme park.

They’re also joined by a familiar face: Takahiro (Gordon Maeda), a survivor from the first film who has spent the last three years searching for the missing Asuka. Together, they must locate the scattered body parts of a new victim while being hunted by the “Red Person” – all before the clock strikes midnight and the day begins again.

The official summary reads:

“Three years after a deadly game in high school, a new nightmare begins. Trapped in a time loop in a desolate amusement park, five new students must join forces with a survivor from the past to complete a new body discovery. But this time, the Red Person is not the only one hunting them.”

director eiichiro hasumi returns to lead the sequel, bringing back the frenetic, bloody energy of the first installment. The cast returns with a new generation of victims including:

First Memorization was a surprise hit on Netflix, praised for its unique mix Groundhog Day Mechanics and J-Horror gore. The sequel promises to dial everything up to eleven. With the setting shifted to an amusement park, expect inventive death scenes involving roller coasters, mirrored funhouses and Ferris wheels.
