stranger things Is on the most viewed list of all time! Season 5 is going to be a huge hit, but we won’t know its final ranking in Netflix’s top 10 until early April 2026.
According to Netflix’s press release, the launch of Stranger Things S5 Volume 3 also contributed to Netflix’s “highest-watched New Year’s Day ever”, setting two records for the season, noting that it also helped make Christmas Day the most-watched ever.
Here’s a complete recap of the six weeks of Stranger Things that have featured in the top 10 so far:

It is important to note in this table that views decline due to the extended runtime of each new volume release.
Its performance so far has been good knocked out fool me once In and out of Netflix’s top 10 #9, and it still has a long way to go. As of week 6, the series has received over one billion hours of viewing globally (1,099,500,000), which is equal to 105.7 million views,

- Wednesday S1: 252.10 million views
- Adolescence: 142.6 million views
- Strange Things 4: 140.7 million views
Our prediction? It is definitely on its way to collapse Wednesday Season 2, but we’re a little ways away from knowing if it will flesh out the other three. We’ll have some more predictions for you in the coming weeks.
I tapped our numbers Guru, Frederick (Netflix and ChiFresh), to take a live look at the race for third place on the list. At the moment, the S5 is tracking above the S4, but we’ll have to wait a few weeks to see how the trajectory settles out.
How does Netflix’s top 10 of all time work for Stranger Things S5?
This has caused some confusion over how scenes and hours are actually calculated when the seasons are split, so here’s an explanation.
The overall top 10 list is calculated for the first 91 days of release. For stranger things Split season, means:
- Taking the time to watch Volume 1 from November 26th to February 25th and adding to a pot
- Taking the time to watch Volume 2 from December 25th to March 26th, and also adding to a pot
- Finally, the viewing hours of Volume 3 from December 31 to April 1 were put into the overall viewing hours.
Then, taking the last bunch of hours watched and dividing by the runtime of all three seasons, in this case, Netflix measures it at 10 hours and 24 minutes. This means we won’t know the final top 10 figures until April 1, 2026, or rather, until April 3, when Netflix will delete its top 10 data.
