An exciting new anime was announced as part of Japan’s 2026 slate, spark of tomorrow. Details are limited, but we can confirm that the anime is coming to Netflix in July 2026 and will star Sora Amamiya and Yuma Uchida.

“In an alternate version of the early 20th century, where technological progress evolved on a different path shaped by steam power, Kyoto is constantly shrouded in smoke. A boy, hardened by the loss of his brother, becomes distrustful after their shared dream of the “Age of Electricity” is cut short. A deeply devout girl hides her dreams and regrets her dead mother. When the two cross paths, they find themselves in the 20th century. As they discover the secrets of the electrical catalog of the century, they must together confront their past and make a path towards the future they once believed in, in order to get a glimpse of the future they long for.
