Netflix has officially unveiled the premiere date and first look of its upcoming limited series, Vladimir. Based on the acclaimed novel by Julia May Jonas, the series brings together a star-studded cast led by Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz. white lotus Breakout star Leo Woodall.
The limited series consists of eight episodes, each approximately 30 minutes long. Production took place in Toronto, Canada with cameras from July 2, 2025 to September 18, 2025. The series is produced by 20th Television.
Kate Robin serves as showrunner and executive producer. Directing duties were shared between Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, who directed episodes 101 and 102; Francesca Gregorini, who directed episodes 103, 106 and 107; and Josephine Bornbusch, who directed episodes 104 and 105.
Executive producers include producers Julia May Jonas, Rachel Weisz, Kate Robin, Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg and Kira Carstensen for Merman, Jason Winer and John Radler for Small Dog Picture Company, and directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.

What is the story of ‘Vladimir’?
It has been described as a “quintessential fairy tale” by star and executive producer Rachel Weisz. Vladimir is a dark comedy and psychological thriller that explores the limits of power and passion.
The official “Next on Netflix” synopsis describes the series as follows:
“When a passionate but careless professor’s world begins to unravel, she finds herself dangerously focused on her magnetic new colleague. Seduction and passion collide in Vladimir – a provocative limited series filled with forbidden desires, sharp wit, and charismatic, unpredictable characters. As boundaries blur and secrets boil over, she’ll risk everything to bring her most scandalous fantasies to life. Julia Based on the acclaimed novel by May Jonas.”
Creator Julia May Jonas, who also wrote the novel on which the series is based, says the show explores “what women feel they are allowed to desire, and how they are allowed to desire.”
