Long ago when the world was debating the ethics of Artificial Intelligence, Jonathan Nolan (done by, Controversy) gave us a terrifyingly apocalyptic look at a world ruled by algorithms. Now, the cult-classic series person of interest Booting back up to Netflix.
We’ve learned that the entire five-season run of the CBS drama — which evolved from a procedural into a hard-hitting sci-fi epic — is part of the latest wave of Warner Bros. Television licensing deals.

This is another television pickup by Warner Bros. for Netflix in recent months, following a significant increase in licensing in the US and internationally since the acquisition deal was announced in late 2025. The series will also be seen in March the Mentalist Declines in select international regions.
Premiering in 2011, the series starts with a simple premise: a reclusive billionaire genius named Harold Finch (michael emerson) has built a supercomputer for the government known as “The Machine”. It was designed to predict terrorist attacks, but it also watches everything else – including ordinary crimes involving regular people. Deemed “irrelevant” by the authorities, Finch recruited a now-deceased former CIA operative, John Reese (Jim Caviezel), to help him intervene and save lives before a crime occurs.
JJ Abrams was one of the executive producers of the series, and it is still highly regarded today.
The series features one of the most beloved artists in science-fiction history:

The rollout covers several major English-speaking and international markets. Confirmed regions receiving the show include:

- Latin America (including Brazil, Argentina and Mexico)
- Select European regions like Italy
Netflix US is not ready for the show’s return at this time. As you may recall, Netflix first acquired the rights in the States in 2015, seasons 1 through 3 were added, and the remaining two seasons were added later in 2016. The series will be released in full in September 2020. Right now, the show is streaming on Prime Video.
