It’s incredible how 9 years of goodwill can be turned into a penny, but if you’ve been on the internet since the release stranger things Season 5 Volume 2, then you’ve definitely noticed a big change over Netflix’s flagship series. It can’t be denied that Volume 2 wasn’t liked by everyone, which has led to some crazy conspiracy theories about it being a so-called unreleased cut, which has now been debunked.
The movement, primarily running under the hashtag #netflixreleasethevolume2files, is demanding that Netflix release an “uncut” or “director’s cut” version of Volume 2. Supporters allege that deleted scenes and footage were removed from the final episode to alter the narrative trajectory. Fans argue that these cuts made the released version feel disjointed, citing shallow character emotions, unresolved plot threads, underdeveloped arcs (particularly for Will Byers), and sudden changes in character dynamics.
It all originates from one Unsourced Google Docs document It cites anonymous sources sent to multiple individuals on social media. They cite various choices in the story, what the actors and creators have said in interviews, and previously rejected runtimes as evidence that the show has been tampered with.
Some theories are very elaborate, many of which admit that there is a bit of psychosis in them.
This led to the hashtag trending and a Change.org petition was set up, which has Nearly 200,000 signatures have now been collected, And the document and movement are going viral, with millions of views, especially on X. there are many too Leading call to review the season,
Many of the fans leading this charge are from the “Baylor” community. For the uninitiated, Baylor is the epitome of the romantic duo of Will Byers and Mike Wheeler. While in official canon the two are best friends, with Mike still dating Eleven, a large section of the fanbase had speculated (and hoped) that their bond would develop into a romance before the credits started rolling. This theory gained serious momentum due to confirmed plot points regarding Will’s feelings for Mike.
This is where the conspiracy takes root: proponents of the movement believe that scenes that validate this relationship, particularly an explicit exchange of emotions or a distinct resolution to their arc, were filmed but left on the cutting room floor to maintain the status quo. They see the “disjointed” nature of Volume 2 as evidence of last-minute re-edits to clean up the romance.
We’re asking about missing footage and unreleased versions, but the reality is much simpler: it’s a work of fiction, and sometimes the story doesn’t play out the way the audience wants it to.

he is now supported actor randy havensWho plays Mr. Clark (aka Snookums). He has now addressed the ‘cut scene’ situation in an Instagram Story, writing: “There is no Snyder Cut of the show, please don’t believe everything you’re told by some random asshole on the internet.”
The Duffer Brothers actually said they filmed thousands of hours of footage, but that’s the case with most shows and movies, which always leave a lot on the cutting room floor. they have to.
However, given the release of Volume 2 and the final scene of Will coming out, which appears to present his journey as one of self-acceptance, albeit with a romantic confession to Mike, it seems like the writers have firmly closed the door on Baylor. Although we don’t have much information about the upcoming finale (Volume 3), during the release of the first two volumes, our sources have consistently indicated that a romantic Baylor endgame was never on the cards.
All of this doesn’t diminish the many legitimate problems with Season 5, and especially Volume 2. The pace has been all over the place with inconsistencies and many issues these past few episodes (as we’ve already delved into). In our opinion, the fault lies primarily in the decision to split the season into a three-part release rather than the initial two-part format, leaving us with a middle chapter that feels incomplete and not as universally loved as Part 1.
