It is here. Just a day before its release on Netflix, the streamer has released a final trailer hinting at the big battle to come, which will conclude stranger things Almost 10 years after its debut.
The finale, titled “The Rightside Up”, is the eighth episode of the show’s fifth and final season. Netflix released the first four episodes of Season 5 on Thanksgiving Day, and then released the now infamous second version on Christmas Day. Now, just seven days later, the finale is upon us. Its runtime is 2 hours 8 minutes.
For those living in the United States and Canada, you probably missed your chance to see the finale in theaters, with Ross Duffer confirming overnight that tickets are mostly sold out. On Instagram, he has written,
“Over 1.1 million of you have already RSVP for the final screenings on NYE and New Year’s Day, and over 3,500 showtimes across 620+ theaters are already completely filled.
What a way to end a ten year journey together.”
The new trailer, which clocks in at 1 minute and 37 seconds, teases what’s to come. “I need you to fight me one last time,” Hopper tells Eleven in the trailer above. “Life has been so unfair to you. Your childhood has been taken away from you. You have been attacked by horrible people, manipulated, but you never let it break you. Fight for the days on the other side of this. Fight for a world beyond Hawkins. Let’s end this, baby.”

In anticipation of tomorrow’s season finale, Netflix held a drone show in Las Vegas last night, which has gone megaviral on social media. Dubbed One Last Adventure: Las Vegas, it featured several activities, including Vecna-sized drones, the Hellfire Club, and re-enactments of some of the show’s iconic moments. Jamie Campbell Bower was in attendance.
Now let’s look at the last remaining pictures. We don’t have metadata for these, so we don’t know how far along each of these is to the final stage.

In other Stranger Things news, as you may have heard, some fans have turned on the show, many of whom are self-proclaimed bystanders (people who believe that Will and Mike should and should be on the show together). Although this has been explicitly rejected, they have run a campaign of misinformation citing fake episode runtimes and encouraging people to review new episodes, particularly episode 7, claiming that Netflix interfered with the editing and left out important scenes. This led to a cast member exposing the misinformation on Instagram.
We’ll have more coverage on Stranger Things today when the new Netflix Top 10 arrives at 8pm GMT, where we’ll get to see what kind of bump Volume 2 gives the show. As things stand now, Season 5 has garnered 489 million hours watched globally since the debut of Volume 1.
