As part of its massive 2026 Japanese content slate, Netflix has unveiled straight to hellA biographical drama series based on six decades of fame, fortune and fear. The series, which follows the life of Kazuko Hosoki, a prophet who brought an entire nation under her control, is arriving this April. Here’s everything we know so far.
The series is a major in-house production for Netflix, directed by Tomoyuki Takimoto (Ikigami: The Final Frontier, brain man) And Norichika Obawith a script from bead monaka. It is produced by Tatsuya Banno and Tomu Fukatsu under the Jongno Film banner.

The series tracks her trajectory from post-war poverty to becoming the “Queen of Ginza” of the nightclub scene, ultimately dominating television and publishing with the Guinness World Records. However, the summary exposes the dark side of his success: allegations of fraud and rumors of ties to the criminal underworld. The show asked: Was she a savior or a devil?
The narrative is told through the eyes of Minori Uezumi, a writer assigned to write Hosoki’s autobiography, following a tense battle of wills between the two women.
