In May 2026, Netflix will release a new true-crime documentary film Accidentwhich describes and investigates a case in which a teenage girl is seen driving into a brick building in her car at a speed of 100 MPH, killing her boyfriend and another passenger.
Netflix has announced a true-crime documentary, AccidentWhich takes an in-depth look at the tragic 2022 incident in which 17-year-old Ohio teen Mackenzie Shirilla intentionally drove into a brick building at 100 mph, killing both her boyfriend Dominic Russo and his friend Davian Flanagan. Shirilla was convicted of 12 felony charges and ultimately sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 15 years. In 2025, she was imprisoned in the Ohio Reformatory for Women. At sentencing, a judge called him “hell on wheels”, a phrase that has since become synonymous with the case.
The feature-length Netflix documentary is the latest comprehensive in-depth look at the case, exploring and examining the horrific crime, shifting stories and the volatile relationships at its center. The case has already been covered extensively in the media, particularly Channel 4 Killer Case Season 4: murder on wheels, and in The Mean Girl Murders.

A car carrying three young adults crashed into a brick building at 100 mph in Strongsville, Ohio, killing two people and leaving a sole survivor. The driver, 17-year-old Mackenzie Schirilla, was taking her boyfriend, Dom, and his friend, Davion, home from a party when the unthinkable happened. But as detectives examine the wreckage, what at first appears to be a tragic accident begins to resemble a deliberate crime scene. Crash dives deep into the volatile relationships at the center, examining the changing stories of that fateful night to find out where a fatal mistake ends and brutal murder begins.
The documentary film is directed by Gareth Johnson, who previously directed Netflix’s true crime documentaries The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman. Also, Angharad Scott (reframed: : Marilyn Monroe) is a manufacturer. Raw’s Rebecca North and Jonny Taylor are also down as executive producers.
