After the sad news of Comedy icon Catherine O’Hara died earlier this weekNetflix US has quietly added five of his most famous films to its library. As fans look to revisit his incredible work, subscribers across the two regions can now stream a collection of his best performances, ranging from a Christopher Guest mockumentary to a Martin Scorsese cult classic.
The entertainment world is still reeling from the loss of the Emmy-winning actress, who passed away on January 30, 2026. While she was recently known as Moira Rose in New Generation. schitt’s creek (sadly no longer on Netflix in most regions), his career spanned decades of film and TV excellence.
Netflix has today acquired the rights to five exclusive titles, each of which will last for 2 months before heading to Netflix. All five titles are available to stream United States of America And Canada As of today, February 4th. These (in the US) are in addition to best in Showwhich was among the arrivals of 1 February, and wild robotWhich will remain on Netflix till March 24, 2026.
All of these new additions come courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures, which, as you may know, is in the process of being acquired by Netflix.

waiting for guffman (1996)
Role:Sheila Albertson
Possibly the quintessential Christopher Guest mockumentary, this film follows a group of aspiring actors in Blaine, Missouri as they prepare for a community theater production. O’Hara shines as travel agent Sheila Albertson, who brings a chaotic, misguided confidence to the stage with her husband Ron (Fred Willard). It’s a masterclass in playing a character who has no idea how talented they are.
a mighty wind (2003)

Reuniting with Eugene Levy (her future Schitt’s Creek husband), O’Hara plays Mickey Crabbe, one half of the folk duo “Mitch & Mickey”. In contrast to his broader comedic roles, this performance is surprisingly tender. The film depicts their awkward reunion for a memorial concert, and O’Hara brings genuine sweetness and heartbreak to the role, proving she can handle drama as deftly as she does comedy.

In this satirical version of the Hollywood awards season, O’Hara delivers one of her most unhinged performances as Marilyn Hack, an aging actress who hears a rumor that her performance in a terrible indie drama could garner an Oscar nomination. Watching her descend into botox-filled despair is both hilarious and painfully scary.

Speaking of the ’80s, O’Hara stars in a memorable supporting role in this black comedy from Martin Scorsese. She plays Gail, an ice cream truck driver who becomes one of the many bizarre obstacles the protagonist (Griffin Dunn) faces during his fateful evening in Soho. This is a great example of his ability to be funny and a little dangerous at the same time.

In this dark romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Luke Wilson, O’Hara plays matriarch Beatrice Lever. Far from the image of a perfect mother, her character is manipulative and deeply involved in the film’s twisted family dynamics. It’s a cult favorite that allows O’Hara to lean toward a dark, villainous comedic persona.
