It’s been a while since we covered the most talked-about upcoming Netflix movies and series. In what we’ll update monthly, this movie list will use IMDb’s Moviemeter on IMDb Pro to see what upcoming Netflix titles are generating the most traffic and interest. We will divide the article into two sections: Most Anticipated Upcoming Movies and Most Anticipated Upcoming Series.

What is it and who is in it: Netflix has acquired the rights to Shelby Van Pelt’s massive bestseller, and it’s becoming a major prestige drama. Directed by Olivia Newman, the screenplay is written by Newman, John Whittington and Van Pelt himself. The story focuses on Tova Sullivan, a widow who begins working the night shift at a local aquarium. There, she makes an unexpected, life-changing connection with a giant Pacific octopus who helps her solve the decades-old mystery of her son’s disappearance. It has all the characteristics of a major tear supplement.

Directed by Baltasar Kormakur and written by Jeremy Robbins, it promises to be a brutal survival film. What is it and who is in it: Happy Madison Productions is back with Netflix. The upcoming comedy is directed by Chandler LeVack from a screenplay by Jimmy Fowley and Sarah O’Sullivan. We’re expecting a classic, raunchy-but-heartfelt college comedy. The story will track the chaotic, passive-aggressive, and ultimately hilarious breakdown of a dorm room living situation between two very incompatible freshmen.

What is it and who is in it: Tyler Rake isn’t done yet. AGBO is bringing back the most successful action franchise in Netflix history. Sam Hargrave returns to direct, with Joe Russo writing the script. We sure hope Chris Hemsworth gets back in tactical gear. There’s no official synopsis yet, but after the crazy prison break of the second film, we expect Tyler Rake to get involved in another seemingly impossible, ultra-lethal extraction mission.
The latest and why it’s highly anticipated: This is, perhaps, partially, fueled by our reporting that filming is set to begin this summer and is no doubt fueled by the fact that the Extraction universe is expanding with an additional two spin-offs.
