Written and directed by Caroline Lindy (based on his short film of the same name), the film offers a distorted view beauty and the Beast Trope.
It follows Laura Franco, a soft-spoken actress whose life is ruined when she is diagnosed with cancer and is subsequently dumped by her narcissistic boyfriend (who also happens to be the playwright of the musical she helped develop). While recovering in her childhood home, she discovers a terrifying but strangely charming monster living in her closet. Instead of eating her, the monster becomes her unlikely roommate, friend, and ultimately, the catalyst for reclaiming her anger and her voice.
The film received many excellent reviews at Sundance and subsequent showcases and upon release. movie Has a 79% Rotten Tomatoes rating Currently the critics score is at 79% and the audience score is equally good with 85%.
