With a second season of the live-action One Piece arriving in March 2026, and a third season now in production, it’s easy to forget that less than 10% a piece The source material has been adapted. But with two more seasons to come, where will the rest of the story be left? Let’s find out.
Eiichiro Oda’s Pirate-Odessey is the best-selling manga of all time. Started on July 22, 1997, the manga continues today with over 1160 published chapters, 113 volumes, over a thousand episodes of anime, and over half a billion copies sold. It’s one of the most popular fantasy franchises on the planet right now, and fans can’t get enough of Luffy and the Straw Hat crew.
The first season of the live-action adaptation was well received by fans old and new, with praise also being given to the cast, each of whom has done an excellent job of portraying their beloved characters. However, there are some serious challenges ahead. How much manga has been adapted so far?
So far, only 44 chapters out of 1166 published manga chapters have been adapted, which is equivalent to only 8.15%,

The first season covered almost the entire East Blue Saga, which concluded at the conclusion of the Arlong Park Arc.

How much of the manga will the second season adapt?
Now that we have the full episode count and titles of each episode, it’s not hard to guess where the second season will end and how much of the manga will be adapted.

We already have clarification that the second season will end with the conclusion of the Drum Island arc. There will be several more chapters published until the second season is released on March 10, but as it stands, the live-action series will be covered 13.2% Out of 1166 published chapters.
How much of the manga will Season 3 cover?
The third season will have the Straw Hat crew on their way to Arbusta, and thanks to writer Ichiro Oda’s words at Jump Festa 2026, we know that arc will be fully covered.
It’s unclear whether any of the Sky Island arc will be included in Season 3, so for now we can guess that Season 3 will end at the conclusion of the Arabasta Arc.

With the conclusion of the Arabasta Arc, 18.6% of the manga will have been covered, leaving an astonishing 81.4% of the source material to be adapted. It’s important to note that the One Piece manga will likely still be around for several more years, so the amount of source material left to cover will continue to grow.

How many more sagas/arcs are left for adaptation?
It’s a long road before the live-action One Piece series, with 9 entire sagas left to be adapted. There are still over 100 chapters left, not to mention the “final saga” of One Piece is still ongoing and unlikely to end for several years.
