Netflix has just revealed the full list of upcoming releases planned for April 2026, and there aren’t too many surprises. One of the few titles we haven’t covered yet is that the streamer is set to become the streaming home for a huge wave of History Channel content this spring. From the high-stakes world of the Five Families to the rugged frontiers of early America, here’s your preview of the four titles joining the library on April 13.

While the documentaries of the month are primarily made up of Netflix originals, these licensed titles join other History Channel titles that have come and gone from the library over the past decade.

After a successful year of licensing HBO and Disney titles, Netflix has turned its attention to a regular partner: A+E Networks. On April 13, a curated collection of the most popular “docudrama” franchises in history will arrive, led by The Mob narrated by Michael Imperioli and based on Frontiersman, created by Leonardo DiCaprio. These all serve as excellent additions as the United States looks back at its history during the country’s half-century of independence.

What’s coming from History Channel on April 13:

Note: These titles are exclusive to Netflix US.

  • American Godfathers: The Five Families (Season 1) – If you love Netflix’s Fear City, this is the perfect companion piece. Narrated by The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli, the series traces the 50-year rise and fall of five New York families.
  • The Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen (Season 1) – Created by Leonardo DiCaprio, this high-budget docudrama is based on the icons who blazed their way into the uncharted American wilderness, including Daniel Boone, Lewis & Clark, and Davy Crockett.

  • The Booze, Bets and Sex That Built America (Season 1) – Part of the popular “That Built America” franchise, this series explores the surprising origins of the nation’s largest “vice” industries and the giants who turned them into commercial empires.
    • Part of That’s Built franchise. First released in 2022.
  • America: Our Decisive Hours (Season 1) – A comprehensive look at 300 years of America’s history, focusing on how the American spirit formed during the country’s most desperate moments of crisis.
    • First released in 2020.
