‘Finding Her Edge’ Everything You Need to Know About Netflix’s New YA Ice-Skating Drama

Netflix recently released its new teen ice-skating series based on the book by Jennifer Iacopelli. Headlined by Madeline Keyes and Calle Ambrozic, the series premiered globally on the streamer on January 22, 2026. Here’s everything you need to know.

An eight-episode first season, with each episode lasting approximately 44 minutes, was first unveiled in early 2025. Production began in mid-February 2025 in Barrie, Orillia and surrounding communities in Ontario and was completed by May.

Netflix was originally scheduled to air the series in Canada with Family Channel, a network owned by WildBrain. However, as confirmed over the summer and set to go into effect by October 2025 The network has been permanently shut down along with three others, as its distribution deals had expired. We can also reveal that the series will be broadcast in Canada on Radio-Canada and its associated streaming service.

• Madeline Keyes as Adriana Russo: The middle sister of the Rousseau skating dynasty. She’s scrappy, determined and resilient, with the weight of the world on her shoulders and a hidden fire in her belly waiting to be unleashed when she returns to the ice.
• Cale Ambrosik as Braden Elliot: Confident, courageous and very beautiful. An extremely talented ice dancer whose partner has recently left the sport, Brayden is a hot commodity and he knows it. He’s a bit of a show-off and a sore loser, but he’s got the talent to back it up.
• Ollie Atkins as Freddy O’Connell: Honest, firm and kind. When Adriana stops skating with him, he is completely blindsided, suddenly ostracized from the family he considered his own. But upon returning to the Russo rink, Freddy cannot fight his feelings of attraction and deep love for Adriana.
• Alexandra Beaton as Alice Russo: The eldest of Rousseau’s three daughters, Alice Rousseau is the center of the skating dynasty. She is arrogant, a fierce competitor and often careless of others’ feelings, but finds herself unsure of her place in the world outside of skating.
• Alice Malakhov as Maria Russo: Quirky, loud and a little rebellious, Maria is the youngest of the three Russo sisters. Maria has spent her childhood trying to keep up with her sisters, but she’s beginning to question her path.
• Harmon Walsh as Will Russo: An Olympic champion whose charm, good looks and athleticism can dazzle on and off the ice. He’s trying his best to run the rink, train champions, and raise three teenage daughters, but beneath the polished facade he’s faltering.
