It’s a big week for Netflix as we cross the midpoint of February 2026 and are bringing a powerhouse mix of live-action blockbusters, prestige awards contenders, and highly anticipated international thrillers.
Leading the charge is the live-action streaming debut how to Train Your Dragon (2025), fresh from his theatrical run, with his dark comedy thriller debut How to get to heaven from belfast From the creator of Derry Girls. Movie lovers also have plenty to celebrate with Richard Linklater’s Oscar-nominated Blue Moon and the return of sci-fi staple Stargate SG-1. Whether you’re looking for a reality TV fix with the new season of Love Is Blind or weekend enjoyment of cult-favorite sitcom Suburgatory, there’s everything for you between February 9th and 15th.

it’s a great time how to Train Your Dragon Fans on Netflix. While the animated movies dropped on the first of the month – joining various DreamWorks animated series already on the service – a push-up deal between Universal and Netflix means the live-action reboot is coming even sooner. After hitting theaters last year and streaming on Peacock just before Christmas, the film is coming to Netflix for most of 2026.
Serving as a remake of the original animated feature – like Disney’s recent string of live-action reimaginings – the film stars Mason Thames as Hiccup. Set on the Isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons are locked in a centuries-long conflict, the story follows Hiccup as he ends that war by befriending a dragon named Toothless.
How to get to heaven from belfast (Season 1)

The United Kingdom’s next big project is How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, a new dark comedy thriller from the creator of Derry Girls. Headlined by Roisin Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan and Caoilfhionn Dunn, the series’ logline reads, “Three lifelong friends reunite after the death of an old classmate, which turns into a dark mystery. They set out on a thrilling adventure across Ireland, uncovering mysterious truths amid complicated lives.”
We’ll have more coverage for this series throughout the week, but from what I’m hearing, it’s an incredibly fun romance, and Derry Girls fans will find exactly the same DNA that made that show a knockout.
blue moon (2025)

Just in time for the grand ceremony next month, we’re getting a look at some of the Oscar-nominated titles this week. Not only is Netflix’s short film The Singers scheduled for release on Friday, but Netflix is ​​also getting the double Oscar-nominated film Blue Moon, which scored Best Actor nominations for Ethan Hawke and Robert Kaplow, who won Best Original Screenplay.
The film comes from Richard Linklater, a frequent collaborator with Netflix, who worked on Nouvelle Vague (only on Netflix US), hit it friendAnd Apollo 10½: A Space Age ChildhoodAnd serves as a biopic of sorts for Lorenz Hart, who is preparing to launch her brand new play, Oklahoma! But suffers from the burden of mental health problems and alcohol addiction.
