Baki recently returned to our screens with Baki-do, beginning The Invincible Samurai arc. With more source material being adapted, we hope to see more Bucky-Doo on Netflix in the near future.
rest-dough is a Japanese Netflix Original anime series, the sequel to Baki-hanma and the fourth manga series in the franchise written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. TMS Entertainment is the animation studio behind the series, and Netflix is responsible for global distribution.
Netflix has been home to the Baki franchise for several years now, starting with Baki, followed by the sequel Baki-Hanma, and now Baki-Do.
Is rest-dough Renewed for Season 2?

At the time of writing, Netflix has yet to confirm that a second season of Baki-Do is on the way.
The series has had a great start on Netflix, debuting with 3.4 million views, and its second week on the platform dropped to just 3.1 million. With over 6 million views already, Baki continues to prove itself to be a very popular anime for subscribers.
Our experimental forecasting tool indicates strong overall performance for Baki-Do in case of a recession.
Given that the series is off to a strong start and has more source material than Bucky-Doo to adapt, we predict a renewal.

How much of the Baki-do manga has the anime adapted so far?
So far, the anime has quickly followed through the manga, adapting the first 99 chapters (11 volumes). rest-dough. The total number of Baki-du chapters is 198 (22 volumes).
With 11 manga volumes remaining, there are many incredible, brutal and bloody fights to see!
How many episodes can we expect from Baki-Do Season 2?
Since the rest of the series has been released on Netflix, the episode count has remained largely constant. Most seasons consist of 13 episodes, the only two exceptions being Season 1 of Baki Hanma and Season 2 Part 2.

Our expectation is that Baki-do Season 2 will have 13 or 14 episodes to conclude the Invincible Samurai arc.
It is also likely that “Season 2” will be listed as “Part 2”. This is because the Baki-do manga continues with the Sumo arc.
When will Bucky-Doo Season 2 release on Netflix?
For Baki and Baki Hanma, there was a two-year gap between the first and second seasons. Hopefully the wait for Season 2 won’t be that long, but looking at the release schedule of the previous season, this suggests fans may have to wait until 2028 rest-dough.
However, the release date is highly dependent on where TMS Entertainment is producing the series. Considering the studio is already hard at work, we may see more Bucky-doo on Netflix in 2027.
For now, we are waiting for further updates from Netflix.
Will Baki continue the Sumo Arc and Baki Rahen?
As long as the franchise continues to do well on Netflix, we can’t expect the anime to stop with the Invincible Samurai arc.
There is much more source material to be adapted, including 17 volumes of the Sumo arc and the sixth Baki story, Baki Rahen, which began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Champion in August 2023, and is still ongoing at the time of writing.
