Netflix’s hit German crime drama scoundrels is officially back in business. Filming for the second season wrapped up mid-last year, with the streamer confirming a 2026 release window and the first look at Charlie and Joseph in action.
It’s been more than a year and a half since Netflix first renewed the series in June 2024, following a breakout performance that catapulted it into the top 10 in more than 80 countries. While fans anxiously awaited news, Netflix has now provided a concrete update: production is now complete, and the new season is ready to premiere. 2026.
As part of its Next on Netflix 2026 (What’s Next?), Netflix Germany has teased details about the second season, including its release window.
What is scoundrels About Season 2?
When we last left Charlie (Frederick Lau) and Joseph (Christoph Creutzler), they had escaped a chaotic chase across Europe. In Season 2, the stakes increase as the setting expands and new areas and threats are included.
According to the official synopsis, Charlie’s attempts to live a peaceful life in Berlin are short-lived. His dark past catches up with him when old “acquaintances” threaten his family, forcing him to commit a robbery involving a valuable coin. Vienna’s clan driver Joseph is assigned the task of delivering the loot to Austria.
Naturally, the plan fails spectacularly. A shootout occurs, someone dies, and Charlie and Joseph’s fates collide once again. The new season is described as “an adventurous and action-packed road trip across three national borders” as the pair must flee to protect Charlie’s family while battling clans in Berlin, Vienna and now Marseille.
Season 2 was filmed across multiple locations in 2025, with production completing in mid-July. According to local reports. talking to serianjunkies, Frederick Lau teased, “We were in Bangkok, in Vienna. I think we have almost surpassed the first season,” adding, “I believe this is something that has not been seen before in German series productions. I think we will set new standards with this.”
