Good news for fans of DreamWorks Animation’s most beloved rogues: The Bad Guys: Breaking In is officially returning for a second season on Netflix under a new title: Bad Guys: The Series.

Following the success of the first season – which served as a prequel to the hit 2022 feature film – Mr. The Wolf and his crew rise up the ranks from small-time scoundrels to great villains. The first season entered the Netflix Kids top 10 in 33 countries and spent 14 days in the US top 10. Even better, the series broke into the weekly global top 10 most watched series for the week of November 2 to November 9, 2025, with 9.2 million hours watched, which is equivalent to 2.4 million views. By the end of the year, the series had been watched for 21.9 million hours, with 5.7 million views.

When will ‘The Bad Guys: Breaking In’ Season 2 be on Netflix?

This release comes at the perfect time for the franchise on Netflix. As we mentioned earlier, the sequel to the film, bad guys 2, Coming to Netflix on March 21st. The first film is available to stream now on Netflix US, with the holiday specials A Very Bad Holiday and Haunted Heist already streaming globally. Netflix will bring the second film as part of its first-window deal with Universal, where the film first goes to Peacock after its theatrical run for 4 months, then to Netflix for 10 months, and then back to Peacock for another 4 months.


The Bad Guys: What to Expect from Season 2 of The Series

While season 1 focused on the gang’s rise to notoriety, season 2 sees them dealing with the benefits (and pitfalls) of being a “big shot”. According to the official synopsis and new details shared via Collider, the crew has moved into a “sleek new rogue lair” to better facilitate their creative heists. However, it is not all smooth sailing. This season, they’ll be faced with the re-emergence of Mr. Wolf’s old mentor, bringing plenty of mischief. This is accompanied by the re-emergence of old enemies and the addition of a new vigilante coming to town with the goal of eradicating all crime. To save the “crime-types”, the bad guys have to step in to protect their way of life.

The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “The bad guys are back, and they’ve made quite a name for themselves. Can the crew keep their record-breaking crime series alive, or will everything go off the rails?”


Who is in the voice cast for season 2?

As we first covered, the television series and season special feature a different voice cast than the feature film, but the entire Season 1 ensemble is set to return for a second outing:

  • Michael Godere as Mr. Wolf (replacing Sam Rockwell)
  • Chris Diamantopoulos as Mr. Snake (replacing Marc Maron)
  • Ezekiel Ajegibe as Mr. Shark (replacing Craig Robinson)
  • Raul Ceballos as Mister Piranha (replacing Anthony Ramos)
  • Mallory Lo as Ms. Tarantula (replacing Awkwafina)
  • Zahra Fazal as Tiffany Fluffitt
  • Patton Oswalt as Mr. Wigglesworth
  • Kate Mulgrew as Serpentina

The series is led by executive producers Brett Haaland and Katherine Nolfi.
