Netflix has unveiled its ambitious slate of Spanish original productions for 2026. With the return of the smash-hit berlin From an intriguing new historical miniseries about Spain’s first serial killer, here’s your comprehensive guide to everything coming to Netflix from Spain this year.
During an event in Madrid, Netflix brought together some of the most prominent minds in Spanish storytelling to reveal what’s next. Presentation, using the Tarot theme Netflix is using for This Next on Netflix / What’s Next? The campaign from the beginning of the year highlighted a mix of beloved, high-profile book adaptations and gritty true crime stories.

Written and directed by Oriol Paulo, master of twists (Innocent), this fast-paced thriller (which literally translates to from the other side) to keep the audience guessing. Starring a veteran cast including Eduard Fernandez, Mario Casas, Blanca Suarez, Nicolas Francella and Alexandra Jimenez, the film has been described simply as a story where “nothing is as it seems.”

The miniseries is based on the dark legend of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, an itinerant tailor in 19th-century rural Galicia who became Spain’s first documented serial killer. During his trial, he famously claimed to be a werewolf, giving rise to a legend that persists to this day. Luis Tosar and Tristan Ulloa star in the project, which is produced by Vaca Films.
Miguel Angel Blanco: For 48 days I have been doing everything
Style: Documentary | Format: film
A poignant documentary that explores 48 harrowing hours that forever scarred Spanish society. Directed by John Sistiaga and Juanjo López, the film retells the kidnapping of Miguel Ángel Blanco by the terrorist group ETA. It documents a moment of national solidarity when millions of people rallied in a desperate effort to prevent his assassination, marking the turning point when Basque society lost its fear of the group.

Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine (Berlin Season 2)

The gang is back. Pedro Alonso returns as Berlin, reuniting with Damien and the crew for a new master heist in Seville. Their target is the “Lady with an Ermine” painting, but the real targets are the Duke of Málaga and his wife. Berlin encounters a couple who think they can blackmail him, awakening his thirst for revenge. The cast includes Michelle Jenner, Tristan Ulloa and new addition Inma Cuesta.

Inspired by real events, the film tells the emotional story of a mother and grandfather coping with the death of a child in a tragic gas explosion in a town in Vizcaya in 1980. Belen Cuesta and Karra Elejalde star in the lead roles.
The Last Problem (El Problema Final)

Based on the best-selling novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, the series is a sophisticated “whodunit” set in 1959. Jose Coronado stars as a retired actor (famous for playing Sherlock Holmes) who finds himself investigating a real crime when a guest is found dead at a hotel on a small island near Majorca. The cast also includes Maribel Verdu and Martino Rivas.
