Pip Fitz-Amobie is officially back on the case and we don’t have much longer to wait. After a tease yesterday, Netflix and BBC have announced the highly anticipated second season A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Will premiere globally on Wednesday, May 27.

Following the tremendous success of the first season – which became one of BBC iPlayer’s most-watched titles for young adults and a huge global hit for Netflix – fans have been eagerly awaiting news of Pip’s next mystery. We’ve been tracking the show’s progress ever since Netflix officially renewed the series, and now we finally have a date to mark on our calendars, as well as a final list of all the new cast members!

The release date announcement may not be a big surprise, considering some of the cast took to social media yesterday to tease something that was coming soon:


What to know about A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2

We’ll have a full preview in due course, but here’s a quick recap:

The official synopsis for Season 2 reads, “After solving the Andy Bell case, Pip’s world is changed by his actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any investigation. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears and Pip finds himself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery throws Pip into the unexpected. Will takes her places as she struggles with the idea of justice, and goes astray from the ‘good girl’ she once was.

Wednesday Breakout star Emma Myers is, of course, returning to lead the series as Pip Fitz-Amobie, alongside Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh.

As well as the return of favorites like Henry Ashton, Hope Banks, Yali Topol Margalith and Jude Morgan-Colley, Netflix and the BBC have unveiled several new faces joining the mystery.

Three major new characters have been cast for the upcoming season:

  • Misia Butler (KAOS) will play Stanley Forbes, a man under investigation whose connections may be deeper than they appear.
  • Eden Hambleton-Davies (Tell Me Everything) plays Jamie Reynolds, Connor’s brother and a quiet but popular local musician whose sudden disappearance sends shock waves through the community.
  • Jack Rowan (Noughts & Crosses) joins Charlie Green as Charlie Green, Pip’s new neighbor who finds herself at the center of a mystery unfolding in Little Kilton.

New cast members are being cast in key supporting roles Anna Brindle (Outside), peter sullivan (Around the World in 80 Days), freddie thorpe (destiny: beach saga), lou corfield (crow girl), Stephanie Street (breathtaking), And freddie england.

Holly Jackson is heavily involved in the series, and is moving on to co-adapt the second season for the screen with returning writer Poppy Coogan. Directing duties for season 2 are divided into two blocks: Asim Abbasi will direct block one, while Jill Robertson will direct block two. The series is produced by Sophie Klein.

The show is being produced for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three by Moonedge Pictures (part of ITV Studios) in co-production with Netflix and ZDFnio. Executive producers include Matthew Reed, Simon Crawford Collins and Frith Tiplady for MoonEdge Pictures; Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Houghton and Katherine Bond for the BBC; With Holly Jackson, Poppy Kogan and Asim Abbasi.


Like Season 1, expect to have some asterisks on the show’s availability for at least this year. As a BBC commission, the series will premiere exclusively on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Like Season 1, it will likely be headed to Netflix UK later on. Elsewhere, Stan broadcasts the show in Australia, and ZDFneo in the DACH region.
