Welcome back to Hawkins, idiot! While fans have already seen the epic live-action finale of the main series, Netflix isn’t done with The Upside Down just yet. They are officially expanding it stranger things Universe with a brand new animated venture: Stranger Things: Stories from ’85.
Set in the bitter winter of 1985 – in between the events of Seasons 2 and 3 – the new animated series brings back our favorite D&D-playing residents along with some exciting new characters. But with a fresh animated look comes mostly brand new voices stepping into these iconic roles.
Who voices Eleven, Mike, and the rest of the gang? Let’s get to the full (announced – still a few more names to be added) voice cast guide for Stranger Things: Stories from ’85.
Brooklyn Dewey Norstad as Eleven (Jane Hopper)
Who they play: The telekinetic powerhouse at the center of the series. El is trying to settle back into a normal life after the events of Season 2, but the Upside Down isn’t done with her yet.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Taking over the iconic role from Millie Bobby Brown is rising child actor Brooklynn Dewey Norstad. Stepping into L’s shoes marks her major mainstream acting debut!
Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max Mayfield
Who they play: The skateboarding, arcade-loving tomboy who recently joined the party.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Taking over the role from Sadie Sink, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport is no stranger to the screen. You may have seen her starring as Zoe in Amazon just add magic Or playing the role of Bian in HBO’s critically acclaimed soap opera watchman narrow range. He also had a voice role in Netflix’s big 2025 animated film, in your dreams.
Luca Diaz as Mike Wheeler
Who they play: The heart of the party and Eleven’s devoted lover, originally portrayed by Finn Wolfhard.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Voice acting fans will recognize Diaz’s voice from Nickelodeon’s animated series Transformers: Earthspark. He has also appeared in live-action Nickelodeon projects erin and aaron.
Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas Sinclair
Who they play: The practical, loyal and brave member of the group, originally played by Caleb McLaughlin.
Where have you seen/heard them before: EJ Williams is best known for his breakout starring role as Dean Williams in the 2021 ABC reboot the Wonder Years. He has also lent his voice to Disney puppy dog friend.
Braxton Quinney as Dustin Henderson
Who they play: The lovable, curly-haired idiot of the group, famously played by Gaten Matarazzo in live-action.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Braxton Quinney is a talented young actor stepping into his biggest project to date, and is doing a great job of voicing fan favorite Dustin for a new generation.
Ben Plessala as Will Byers
Who they play: The Boy Who Escaped from the Upside Down was originally portrayed by Noah Schnapp. Will is looking forward to a quiet winter of playing D&D with his best friends.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Plesala has built an impressive resume as a child actor starring in big hit TV shows like HBO’s big little liesshowtime’s shamelessand nbc American Auto.
Brett Gipson as Jim Hopper
Who they play: The grumpy but lovable police chief of Hawkins and Eleven’s adoptive father. David Harbor portrayed the live-action role, but Gipson is taking over for the animation.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Gipson is an actor and stunt performer who has appeared in shows such as NCIS, powerful hitand comedy-horror film knight of scoundrels.
Odessa Azion as Nikki Baxter
Who they play: A brand new character is joining stranger things Universe! Nikki is described as a punk-loving teenager who gets caught up in Hawkins’ madness.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Azien is best known to Netflix fans as Joey Del Marco in the drama series grand army. Horror fans will also easily recognize him for his starring role in Hulu’s 2022 hellraiser Reboot. She also recently appeared in A24 Marty Supreme.
Jeremy Jordan as Steve Harrington
Who they play: Hawkins’ resident babysitter and child care specialist, originally played by Jo Keery.
Where have you seen/heard them before: A Broadway legend! Jordan is famous for his stage roles news And the great GatsbyAlso played the role of Winn Schott on The CW super girl and voicing Lucifer in Amazon’s animated mega-hit Hazbin Hotel.
Janeane Garofalo as Anna Baxter
Who they play: Another new addition to the cast is Odessa Azien’s character, Nikki’s mother and a new school teacher, as well. [redacted]
Where have you seen/heard them before: ’90s comedy icon, Garofalo is famous for reality bytes, wet hot american summer, mystery manand to voice Colette in Pixar’s beloved classic Ratatouille.
Lou Diamond Phillips as Daniel Fisher
Who they play: Another mysterious character is joining the fray in Hawkins. It is described as “a friendly clerk at the Hawkins Food Mart who often lets Dustin keep an eye on snacks and sodas.”
Where have you seen/heard them before: Hollywood veteran Lou Diamond Phillips rose to fame playing the role of Ritchie Valens La Bamba and acted young Guns, stand and deliverAnd more recently, the hit series prodigal son.
Robert Englund as Cosmo
Who they play: Details on Cosmo are being kept strictly a secret, but knowing Englund’s history, expect something incredibly scary.
Where have you seen/heard them before: He’s the man of your nightmares! Englund is the famous horror icon who played Freddy Krueger A Nightmare on Elm Street. Absolutely, stranger things Fans already know him well – he played the terrifying, eyeless Victor Creel in Season 4.
Alicia Reiner as Karen Wheeler
Who they play: Mike and Nancy’s mother, originally played by Cara Buono.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Renner is incredibly recognizable to longtime Netflix subscribers as Natalie “Fig” Figueroa 15-20. He has also starred in Marvel Ms Marvel And better things.
Alessandra Antonelli as Nancy Wheeler
Who they play: Natalia Dyer, Mike’s older sister and Hawkins resident teen journalist, takes over the role.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Antonelli is a New York-based stage actress, dancer, and voice-over artist who is making a big splash by stepping into Nancy’s monster-hunting shoes.
Valeria Rodriguez as Rosario
Who they play: A new character has been added to the mix of the animated series. According to reports, she is a rival student who will compete against the gang in a pie eating contest.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Rodriguez is an extremely prolific voice actor in the video game and anime world. He is known for voicing Venture overwatch 2in sucrose genshin impactand lagoon blue in animated giant monster series.
Jack Griffo as Jeff
Who they play: Another brand new face in town! According to reports, he is a missing student found in a sewer.
Where have you seen/heard them before: Nickelodeon fans will instantly recognize Griffo as Max Thunderman from the hit superhero comedy thunderman (and its recent spinoff film).
