Paramount’s hit spy thriller Special Ops: Lioness It has enjoyed highly successful licensed runs on Netflix in several international territories over the past year. However, if you’re in Canada, Australia, or Latin America, you’ll have to end your engagement soon, as the series is scheduled to depart in mid-April 2026.

Created by Taylor Sheridan (the mastermind behind it) yellowstone, mayor of kingstownAnd tulsa king), Special Ops: Lioness Originally premiered on Paramount+. Featuring a star-studded cast led by Zoe Saldana, Lesla de Oliveira, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman, this gritty action series follows a CIA operative who is tasked with befriending the daughter of a suspected terrorist in order to dismantle his organization from the inside.

As part of Paramount’s ongoing strategy to license select shows to Netflix to increase viewership, the eight-episode first season arrived on Netflix in 9 countries during 2025. Now, those one-year licensing windows are beginning to expire. The series never came to Netflix US, although that may change as several shows from Paramount+ are scheduled to come to Netflix in due time.

Despite only being available in a small number of countries, the series received strong viewership on Netflix, with over 100 million hours watched throughout 2025, garnering approximately 18.3 million views.


Which sectors are losing? Special Ops: Lioness?

currently, Special Ops: Lioness Streaming on Netflix in at least 9 countries. For most of these territories, the series was added in mid-April 2025 on a strict one-year license.

If you live in the following regions, the series will be retired and removed from Netflix April 16 or April 17, 2026 (depending on your exact time zone):

  • argentina (Departure 17th April)
  • Australia (Departure 16th April)
  • brazil (Departure 17th April)
  • Canada (Departure 17th April)
  • Colombia (Departure 17th April)
  • Mexico (Departure 17th April)

Your Netflix app will soon start displaying “Last Day to Watch” notices for titles. Once it leaves, it will return exclusively to Paramount+ in these regions.


Is Special Ops: Lioness Leaving Netflix UK?

If you’re reading this from the United Kingdom (or Germany and Italy), you can breathe a sigh of relief. You have plenty of time left to finish the first season.

Unlike the US and Australia, Netflix in the UK, Germany and Italy have yet to receive the series 24 September 2025. Because Netflix has secured a standard one-year licensing deal for these regions as well, the show will remain available to stream for a few more months.

we expect Special Ops: Lioness Netflix to depart UK, Germany, and Italy just a year after its addition: 24 September 2026. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to confirming its official removal.

Of course, the best place to watch the show after the departure is Paramount+, which also streams season 2 and eventually season 3.
