The 98th Academy Awards have officially wrapped up at the Dolby Theatre, and it was a huge night for Netflix. Coming off a highly competitive awards season, the streamer walked away with seven gold statuettes, officially tying its record for most Oscar wins in a single year!
While the streamer, once again, didn’t take home the elusive Best Picture award this year, its diverse, visually stunning, and culturally expansive slate of films dominated the animated, technical, and short film categories.

But the hits didn’t stop there! The film’s explosive track, “Golden” brought the win Best Original Song (Music and lyrics by EJAE, Mark Sonnenblick, Jong Gyu Kwak, Yoo Han Lee, Hee Dong Nam, Jeong Hoon Seo and Teddy Park).

This is Netflix’s second best animated feature film Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
frankenstein Dominates craft categories

Guillermo del Toro’s gorgeous, Gothic masterpiece frankenstein The craft of the evening proved to be king. The film completely dominated the technical categories and took home three Oscars:
- Best Production Design: Tamara Deverell (Production Design) and Shane Viau (Set Decoration)

Death, Taxes and Netflix are winning in the short film categories. The streamer continued its long-standing dominance in short-form formats, earning two more statuettes:
- all empty rooms took home Best Documentary Short Film (Joshua Seftel and Conall Jones).
- singer secured the award for Best Live Action Short Film (Sam A. Davis and Jack Piatt).
