It’s been a busy week for new releases on Netflix US, with 29 new movies and series released in the last seven days. The best new movies and shows to watch on Netflix this weekend
That Night (Limited Series) Netflix Original
Style: Crime Thriller, Psychological Drama

Produced by Jason George (Narcos, at night), this new Spanish thriller devotes each episode to a different character’s changing perspective. The plot begins when a young single mother is implicated in a murder during an island getaway, leading her sisters to rush to her aid – only to make matters worse.
In our 3.5-star review, we concluded: “A finely paced, grounded dramatic miniseries that escapes its easy thriller premise. It shines through its psychological drama and a relatable examination of grief, despair, and guilt, laying the foundation for a quietly moving finale.”
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025)

Arriving on Netflix via a new Universal animated and live-action output deal is the final (for real this time… maybe) entry in the long-running British institution. This time, the Crawley family is forced to confront the rapidly changing modern era when Mary finds herself at the center of a public scandal, while the devastating financial effects of the Wall Street Crash threaten the future of the estate.
Filled with the sharp wit, stellar performances and stunning production design that fans have come to expect, it’s a fitting and emotional farewell to the beloved franchise.
One Piece (Season 2) Netflix Original
Style: action, adventure, fantasy

The Straw Hats are officially back. After the massive, curse-breaking success of its new season, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s famous manga is finally back and heading for the treacherous Grand Line — and it’s based on Early reviews and scoresIt has not lost any momentum.
Season 2 moves forward significantly across the world, bringing higher stakes, a bigger budget, and a new list of allies and villains. As Luffy and his crew continue their quest, the show effortlessly manages to recapture the great charm that made the first season a global phenomenon. This is easily one of the biggest streaming events of the month.
