The second season of the live-action One Piece is here! This means that a smaller portion of the overall One Piece story has been adapted, ultimately taking the total percentage into double digits. But less than a fifth of the One Piece story has been adapted so far, how much of the manga will be adapted in the third season? Let’s find out.
Eiichiro Oda’s Pirate Odyssey is the best-selling manga (and comic book) of all time. The manga began on July 22, 1997 and continues to this day, with over 1,170 published chapters, 113 volumes, over 1,000 anime episodes, and over 600 million copies sold. It’s one of the most popular fantasy franchises on the planet right now, and fans can’t get enough of Luffy and the Straw Hat crew.
The first and second seasons of the live-action adaptation have been well received by fans. The cast as well as the set design and costumes have been highly praised. The challenge of a live-action adaptation remains the scale of the One Piece story and the time required to adapt it. Tomorrow Studios is doing a great job in tackling the story season by season.
But let’s take a look and find out how much of the One Piece manga has been adapted by live-action adaptation so far:
How many manga have been adapted into live action so far?
With the second season officially ending, we can confirm that 154 chapters out of the 1174 published manga chapters have been adapted so far. it is equivalent to 13.1% Of the entire One Piece story.
This percentage will continue to decrease as more chapters are released.

How much of the manga will be covered in live action in Season 3?
Based on the assumption that the third season will only cover the events of the Alabasta Saga, this would bring the total number of manga chapters to approximately 217.

This means that, at the time of writing, if no more manga chapters were published, the total percentage of One Piece stories that would have been adapted is 18.5%.

chapters of a piece The manga is released weekly, but there are several breaks throughout the year. the third season of a piece It is expected to arrive on Netflix in July or August in summer 2027.
For entertainment, let’s say live-action a piece Season 3 arrives in the last week of August, and with no break in the manga between now and then, an additional 76 manga chapters can be released. With this, the total number of chapters published will increase from 1176 to 1252. This means that by the time of live-action a piece Season 3 arrives on Netflix, total percentage of One Piece story adapted so far will be reduced 17.33%.
Once you take into account breaks, the optimized percentage can be anywhere between 17.5% to 18%.
How much of the manga is left for adaptation?

This has given many live-action fans hope that we will at least see the events of the Water 7 Saga adapted. The live-action series could run for 5 or 6 seasons based on the events of Water 7, depending on whether they split the Water 7 and Annie’s Lobby arcs into separate seasons or opt for one longer season with a split release.
As far as seasons beyond that, Thriller Bark and Sawbody could be adapted into a season, and the same could be done for the events of the Summit War Saga.
We could see up to eight or nine seasons of live-action One Piece.
