We finally have a release date cloudySkydance Animation’s highly anticipated second animated feature is coming exclusively to Netflix in May 2026, and it’s one of two from the studio coming to Netflix during 2026, the other being Ray Gun, which is expected to arrive in the later months of the year.
If you were scrolling through your feed late last night, you might have caught a glimpse of a leaked poster. Well, Netflix officially took action this morning to confirm the rumors, releasing official teaser art and revealing cloudy will make its global debut 1 May 2026.
But not only this. The press release also brought some massive casting news, expanding the already star-studded lineup.

Artists: Who’s joining The Valley?
we already knew this Michael B. Jordan And Juno Temple Leading the film with comedy veterans tracy morgan And Cedric the Entertainer.
However, today’s announcement shines a major light on three incredible new voice cast additions that are officially joining the Wild ecosystem:
- Justina Machado (One day at a time, Terror of Dolores Roach) as Callie
- Ambika Mod (one day, it’s gonna hurt) as purple
- Lolly Adefope (Evil spirit, miracle worker) as Lily
- tata vega (Singer/Songwriter) as Grandmother
Violet and Lily are Juno Temple’s two sisters, Ivy. Kelly Michael B. Is the mother of Jordan’s character.
What is cloudy About this?
The film follows a body-swap trope (with a slight twist, as they’re not actually swapping bodies, so to speak, but rather transforming into other beings) but sets it in a completely untamed, nature-doc-inspired setting.

“A buddy comedy about a small woodland creature (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a majestic bird (voiced by Juno Temple) – the natural enemies of The Valley – who suddenly switch bodies and must team up (while walking in each other’s feathers and fur) to survive the wildest adventure of their lives.”

director nathan grano (Tangled) also shared a quote this morning that sheds some light on the bizarre and vibrant world the Skydance Animation team has created:
“cloudy It is a body-swap film that is unlike anything audiences have seen before. In this world, the creatures of the valley exist on a spectrum between plant and animal, creating a wild ecosystem. At the center of the film is the smallest creature in the valley, voiced by Michael B. Jordan, who suddenly finds himself transformed into a completely different body and thrust into a vast, unpredictable world that turns his entire life upside down and forces him to experience life from an entirely different perspective.
With a release date set for May 1st, we can expect a full official trailer to arrive soon. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this as we get closer to spring!
