Netflix has ordered the drama to a series Alexanderwhich comes from acclaimed heated rivalry Creator Jacob Tierney and executive producer Jason Bateman.
Filmmaker Jacob Tierney has already garnered praise for his romance drama heated rivalryA series he created, wrote and directed. Now Tierney has decided on his next project Alexander On Netflix. Based on the best-selling novel golden mean By Annabel Lyon, the historical series follows two great figures of ancient Greece: Alexander the Great and his teacher Aristotle.
Alexander Written, directed, and executive produced by Tierney. The project also stars award-winning actor Jason Bateman and Aggregate Films’ Michael Costigan as executive producers. Other than this, heated rivalryBrendan Brady is also producing.
The period drama focuses on Alexander the Great, son of King Philip II of Macedon and Queen Olympias. He is widely considered one of the greatest military masterminds in history.
Netflix’s official description reads:
Based on Annabel Lyon’s novel The Golden Mean, the play begins when the Athenian empire is collapsing and the world’s greatest mind, Aristotle, comes to Macedonia to tutor a precocious young prince, Alexander. Amidst palace intrigue, forbidden love, brutal warfare, and ruthless ambitions, their unlikely friendship shapes an empire and changes the course of history.
“I fell in love with Annabel Lyon’s book The Golden Mean years ago and have been dreaming of telling this story ever since,” Tierney said in a statement. “Brandon and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Aggregate and Netflix to bring this extremely compelling world to life.”

What is golden meanThe novel on which the series is based?
Annabel Lyon’s first novel, golden mean First published in 2010. The novel received much praise from critics, winning awards Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.
The full summary of the novel is as follows:
“Macedon. 367 BC. Philip II is bringing war to Persia. Steeped in the warrior culture of Macedonia, the time has come that his young son Alexander must take up the inheritance of blood and obedience to the sword. It is a training that has turned the boy into a sadist; immensely talented, but unstable. A dangerous quality in a king who ruled over the most vast empire of the ancient world.”
As far as the TV series is concerned, no casting has been announced. Bateman is best known as an executive producer rather than a star. Nor has any release date been fixed. We will keep you informed.
