It’s another busy week on Netflix, with a heavy mix of high-octane returning favorites, heartbreaking documentaries, and under-the-radar licensed gems. While the title act is undoubtedly the global return of Peter Sutherland, there’s plenty of room in the queue for a critically acclaimed indie sci-fi and a powerful tribute to a TV legend. Plus, we’ve got a huge slate of over 40 new movies and series slated for the final stretch of February.

In case you missed our announcement over the weekend, we’ve given our main What’s New on Netflix hub page a big makeover, and I hope you’ll allow me to say, I’m very proud of it. There have been a number of improvements and bug fixes throughout the week, including a nicer back-to-top button, even more filters, and a style drop-down. We’re also now able to integrate more review scores from Letterboxd and Rotten Tomatoes Popcorn (audience) scores, which we’ll use going forward. Many of you have sent suggestions on improvements and changes and we appreciate you!

For more on what’s coming soon to Netflix, we’ve just updated our March 2026 release schedule, which we should see finalized next week.

Landing on Netflix after a successful run on the festival circuit last year, East of the Wall is a gripping, atmospheric thriller that marks a confident directorial debut for Kate Beecroft. Set against the rugged, unforgiving backdrop of the badlands of South Dakota, the film follows a young Lakota woman (played by the phenomenal Portia Zimiga) who is forced into a desperate game of cat-and-mouse after witnessing a crime involving a powerful local man.

While the adage of “wrong place, wrong time” is well-trodden, Beecroft breathes new life into it by adding real-world tensions and a deep sense of place to the mystery. Scoot McNairy turns in a generally credible, restrained performance as a struggling local attorney, but the heart of the film belongs to the Zimiga sisters, whose chemistry provides an emotional foundation for the tension. If you’re a fan of Taylor Sheridan’s brand of “neo-western” noir wind river Or hell or high waterThis should be at the top of your watchlist this weekend.

jonathan (2018)

director:Bill Oliver
Author:Gregory Davis, Peter Nicowitz, Bill Oliver
country of origin:United States
mold: Ansel Elgort, Suki Waterhouse, Patricia Clarkson
rating:TV-MA
Order: 100 minutes

One of the surprise, unannounced titles dropped this week is Jonathan, a 2018 sci-fi mystery film about two siblings who share one body, each getting 12 hours a day. But when one of them breaks the rules, their entire lives go haywire. If that plot sounds similar to The Substance, you’d be right, although in practice it’s very different and just as interesting.

Full warning, not everyone enjoyed this movie as much as I did, with most reviews (from both critics and audiences) having ratings right in the middle. AJ Caulfield for The Young Folks perhaps summed up the sentiment best, Saying“While Elgort delivers a strong leading performance, and the film retains in its closing moments the awkward lilt with which it leads, Jonathan ends up merely adequate: smart but not as brilliant as Jonathan, tense but not as lethally conflicted as John.”

night agent (season 3)

mold: Gabriel Basso, Lucien Buchanan, Hong Chau, DB Woodside, Fola Evans-Akingbola
rating:TV-MA

The third biggest English language comeback of 2026 is here (after Bridgerton and The Lincoln Lawyer) with Gabriel Basso back as Agent Peter Sutherland and once again, we’re traveling around the world.

Here’s the official logline for Season 3: “Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government information after murdering his boss. This begins a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark money network while evading his paid assassins, while being put on a collision course with a persistent journalist. Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges. Who threaten to bring the government to its knees – and kill them both in the process.”

Judging by the online consensus, Season 3 looks to be probably the best, if not the second best, season so far, and a huge step forward and return to form after a somewhat awkward second season. Things are looking positive for a potential fourth season, with good work going on behind the scenes, but no official renewal yet.

Famous Last Words: Eric Dane (2026)

mold: Brad Falchuk, Eric Dane
Order:50 minutes

In the second entry of Netflix’s Famous Last Words series, we have a poignant and incredibly sad interview from Brad Falchuk, who sat down with actor Eric Dane following his ALS diagnosis sometime last year, with the knowledge that what was said would only be released on Netflix after his death. That’s what happened on Thursday and now he has his last words. He talks about all aspects of his life, from his diagnosis to his extensive career and his family. This is one of the most emotional interviews I’ve ever seen, and whether you’re a fan or follow his career, there are important lessons to be learned. If nothing else, read his last monologue addressed to his two daughters.
