It’s another week in the books, and it’s been a busy one for new releases, especially on the licensed side. Below, we’ll tell you all about all 42 new releases this week, a sneak peek at what’s coming this weekend, our top picks for the week, and what’s trending in the US top 10.
Before we get into the highlights, some quick housekeeping – there’s still plenty to watch on Netflix for the remainder of February, including the final batch of episodes. bridgerton (The trailer and new first look were released today). We are now also tracking the arrival of March 2026.
What to watch on Netflix this weekend
free fire (2016)
Rating: R
Language: English
Style: action, comedy, crime
Director: ben wheatley
Mould: Sharlto Copley, Brie Larson, Armie Hammer
Author: Amy Jump, Ben Wheatley
Runtime: 91 minutes/1 hour 31 minutes
I remember covering this underrated A24 gem when it first came out on Netflix, and I was tempted not to highlight it again, but then I realized it last appeared on Netflix six years ago: time and tide wait for no one! So, if you weren’t a Netflix subscriber at the time or need a refresher, here’s another thorough recommendation.
This stylish, slick thriller featuring an unlikely group revolves around what happens when an arms deal in the late 1970s goes disastrously wrong, turning into a massive survival game and a shootout that follows. Can’t recommend it enough, in my opinion it’s Brie Larson’s best role of her career and Cillian Murphy is, predictably, as good as ever.
suburban (Seasons 1-3)
number of episodes:57
Rating: TV-PG
Language: English
Style: humor
Mould: Jeremy Sisto, Jane Levy, Carly Chaikin
Author: Emily Kapnek
Runtime: 22 minutes
Continuing Netflix’s trend of acquiring licenses from the Warner Bros. Television vault (albeit a recent addition in this case), we watch all three seasons suburban Land on Netflix for the first time. The show, which aired on ABC, was canceled in 2014 after a criminally short third season, and follows Tessa Altman, who is accustomed to the big city, but has to adapt to her new suburban life in Chatswinkle when her father takes her away.
It’s a heartwarming show that has gained quite a fan base throughout its run, but clearly not enough to keep it around for more seasons. A tragedy, and it’s easily overcome and finds a new, larger audience via Netflix.
Museum of Innocence (narrow range)
number of episodes:9
Rating: TV-MA
Language: Türkiye
Style: Drama
Director: zeynep günay
Every year, Netflix releases one or two iconic series from around the world that require a behind-the-scenes documentary. They’re rare, but given that this week’s full treatment is the Turkish series The Museum of Innocence, which is getting plenty of press coverage even in English-speaking countries, which is rare for Netflix projects, marketing teams often like to emphasize their home territory.
Based on the Nobel Prize-winning novel by Orhan Pamuk, this stunning period drama is set in 1975 Istanbul and traces the passionate, decades-long romance between Kemal, a wealthy heiress, and his distant, poor relation Füsun. What begins as an illicit affair on the eve of Kemal’s engagement to another woman turns into a lifelong longing, leading him to collect everyday objects that Füsun has touched – from earrings to cigarette butts – to preserve the memory of their time together. Director Zeynep Günay has imagined this “museum” of grief and desire with high-gloss production values, using the central fixation to explore the clash between traditional and modern values in Turkish society.

An interesting week in the US movie top 10, with the British documentary on Lucy Letby quietly gaining momentum all week.
