Netflix is set to revisit one of the most harrowing and controversial criminal cases in recent British history. Lucy Letby’s investigationA new feature-length documentary examining the neonatal nurse’s conviction is set to arrive globally on Netflix on February 4, 2026.
Here’s everything we know so far about the documentary, what it includes, and when you can stream it.
What is Lucy Letby’s investigation About this?
The documentary focuses on the case of Lucy Letby, a former neonatal nurse who was found guilty of murdering seven children and attempting to murder seven others at the Countess of Chester hospital between June 2015 and June 2016. The trial gripped Britain and still sees frequent new developments, resulting in Letby being labeled the country’s worst child murderer. She was convicted and is currently serving 15 life orders.
However, it must be said that there are some divided opinions on the sentencing, which suggests that the film can explore the polarized public and legal discourse that emerged following the verdict.
As mentioned, there are still new developments in the case on a regular basis BBC report just a few days ago Letby will not face additional criminal charges after new evidence emerged.
Netflix has promised “the most comprehensive look” at the case to date, including interviews with experts and lawyers representing both sides of the argument. The trailer and press release promise never-before-seen footage of Letby’s arrest and police interrogation, new testimony from British police officers investigating the case, and a special contribution from the mother of one of the victims. This is the first time a family member involved in the prosecution has spoken in a documentary setting.
