The Coen-verse is expanding on Netflix and is the second major film brought forward as part of Universal’s Pay-1 window. after the arrival of drive-away doll A few years ago the service, Ethan Coen’s latest solo directorial effort, Darling, don’t do it!It is now confirmed to be coming to Netflix US in February.
The film, which stars Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans, was released in theaters last summer (August 2025) before enjoying an exclusive streaming window on Peacock. Now, thanks to the new “Pay-1B” output deal between Universal and Netflix (which officially began this month) M3GAN 2.0 and it is being followed how to Train Your Dragon And the latest Jurassic World movie ), is shutting down movie services.

This release is part of Universal’s updated licensing structure for live-action films. Previously, these movies would arrive on Prime Video after their initial Peacock release. However, by 2026, and as we first reported, Netflix has taken over that window. This means you have time till December 3, 2026 before the film releases.

It centers on Honey O’Donoghue, a private investigator who is not at all good at her job. When she begins to investigate the mysterious death of a young woman, she finds herself drawn into a bizarre conspiracy involving a local cult-like church, a sleazy preacher, and a frustrated police officer.

“Honey O’Donoghue (Margaret Qualley) is a private investigator in Bakersfield, California. When she witnesses a crime, she is thrust into a violent and chaotic underworld, where she meets a dangerous cult leader (Chris Evans) and a mysterious woman (Aubrey Plaza) who may be her only ally.”
It must be said that the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. It currently sits at 45% on Rotten Tomatoes with unanimous reading“Uneven stakes and desperate measures result in a debacle this time for Ethan Coen, who tries to cast a wide net but will ultimately leave the audience saying, Honey, don’t do it.”
