Netflix US recently experienced a scare over the license of Heartland. The series was scheduled to be removed entirely in August 2025, however a last-minute deal allowed it to continue streaming, and season 17 eventually joined the service in September 2025. Season 18 aired on that platform in summer 2025. Typically, UP Faith & Family retains an exclusivity window for a set period of time after the finale airs before the season is transferred to Netflix.
Luckily for subscribers, that window is about to close, allowing the 10-episode season to debut on Netflix in early February.
What about future seasons?
We’ve already covered Season 19 elsewhere, but you should expect it won’t join Netflix US until 2027, followed by international territories in 2026.
What about season 20? Well, there’s been no official word yet, although production listings reveal that the series has already been given the thumbs up for an incredible twentieth season, with filming beginning in Calgary, Alberta in May 2026, with a finale date set for sometime in August 2026. Presumably, the show will return to CBC in late 2026.
