Last week was very busy. Throughout the week, we got information about new releases coming in 2026. We have a huge slate of shows, including big shows from the US, as well as smaller shows from the UK, France and Australia, with more to come. There are plenty of comeback shows planned for 2026, but there are some notable big omissions. On the new title slate, you had titles like philanthropist, But there were even more glaring omissions on the returning slate.
You can find a full recap of our Next on Netflix 2026 coverage here, but let’s look at the titles we’ve confirmed won’t be returning in 2027 and those we suspect may still get a slot in 2026.
blue eye samurai Season 2 isn’t coming to Netflix until 2027, we can confirm, which shouldn’t be entirely surprising considering the time it takes to make animated series, especially of this caliber. The 2024 release date only came from a projected 2026 release date provided to Collider in an interview, but it’s increasingly clear that we’ll have to wait a little longer to see Meizu’s return. Remember that this renewal was different from most animated renewals that have come before; Only 8 episodes were pre-ordered, and Netflix only officially confirmed production was underway in August last year. However, we have received some more footage throughout the year.
forever Season 2, which Deadline recently reported was in production and set to wrap up soon, appears to be another 2027 show, though we have some trepidation about it actually being in production. Our understanding is that filming will not begin until summer 2026. However, we will hear more soon.
indomitableThe limited series, which got an unexpected season 2 after blowing up the Netflix charts, will return to production in a new location, which we’re told will be Hawaii, with a debut in February and a finale date set for June. Possible return for this title in spring 2027.
Kakegurui live-action adaptation Condition It received an unexpected season 2 renewal after its premiere last May and has yet to begin production, and to the best of our knowledge, there is no date or window as to when that will happen. As a result, it’s no wonder it’s a 2027 title.
It took the British superhero drama series Supacell Forever went into production for its second season, but it finally debuted in late 2025. A 2027 release date for this seems more than possible.

Wednesday Season 3 is certainly no big surprise to many, given that as soon as Season 2 dropped, we were reporting that Netflix was eyeing a Summer 2027 release for the series. This is even more likely, as filming isn’t scheduled to begin until mid-February and with the production timeline being more than 6-8 months, a release in 2026 is out of the question.
we are all dead Season 2 was notably missing from the big global list, which is crazy because it’s certainly big enough to justify being on the big 2026 list, but sources indicate that filming is set to end in February 2026, making a return this year possible but probably out of reach.
Titles that may still be released in 2026
Based on the production schedule that we are aware of, there are several Netflix titles removed from the Next on Netflix doc release that we think may still be able to come out before the end of the year.
We’ll start with two shows that need an asterisk, given that Netflix isn’t a full-fledged distributor: geek girl Season 2 and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2. In both cases, Netflix works with other partners on marketing and messaging (although to a lesser extent). geek girl), so it shouldn’t be entirely surprising that Netflix hasn’t confirmed that either of these will return in 2026, but filming on both has been completed, so they should easily be able to drop this year.

ginny and georgia Season 4 could still arrive in 2026, despite being absent from slate previews so far. Filming is scheduled to wrap up in late February 2026, meaning it should be more than possible to bring the show back to our screens sometime this year. If not, it will be very early 2027.
Ransom Valley Filming was supposed to end in mid-January 2026 (specifically January 14), but season 2 was ultimately not included in the 2026 slate. Judging by this early cover, it’s more than possible for it to arrive in the second half of the year, but we’ll see what Netflix has in mind.
Going back to adult animation, long story short Confirmed to return in 2026, but can’t say much about it haunted hotelHorror comedy from creator Matt Roller. It got renewed just a week after the first season debuted, which makes us think this could be an early preorder announcement, so we might see it sooner.
Of course, there are many titles whose future is still up in the air at the time of publication, such as those who renounce season 2, house of guinness season 2, an inside man season 3, Miss Governor Season 2, and vince staples show Season 3. We’re obviously not too optimistic about any of their futures so watch this space.
