11.

gone for good

gone for good It has all the trademarks of a classic Harlan Coben thriller. It even swaps out the original novel’s New Jersey setting for the stunning French scenery of Nice. The French series stars Guillaume Lucchesi (Finnegan Oldfield), who suffers the devastating loss of both his girlfriend and older brother in 2010. Fast forward a decade, and Guillaume proposes to his now-girlfriend Judith (Nelia Harjaune), but she mysteriously disappears the next day. How does it connect to the past?

The picturesque French setting makes for a visually appealing series. That said, the overall narrative and dull characters aren’t enough to carry this typically average series.

10.

just a look

Third Polish series (successful) based on the Harlan Coben novel. hold tight And Forest, just a look Sets the scene in Warsaw. We follow jewelery designer and happily married woman Greta Rembiewska (Maria Debska). just a look It debuted to mixed ratings. While undoubtedly entertaining, many found the plot’s formulaic ending disappointing.

9.

caught

This Spanish series seems very different from your typical Harlan Coben series. Sure, the setting and language play a role in its uniqueness, but it’s also darker and brighter. We follow Emma Garay (Soledad Villamil), an investigative journalist with a respected record in her field. However, when she takes on the case involving the disappearance of teenager Haley McWade, she discovers that the prime suspect is none other than Leo Mercer (Alberto Ammann), a man who not only helped her with the case, but someone she has developed a personal relationship with.

caught Beautifully shot, but poorly written with lead characters who come off as boring at times. While it’s not bad, it certainly lacks the obvious suspense and spectacular cliffhangers of Coben’s best thrillers.

8.

I am missing you

I am missing you Rosalind Eleazar plays Detective Cat Donovan. More than a decade after the death of her fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters), she finds herself mindlessly swiping through dating profiles… only to find Josh among the users. Naturally, this sends her on an investigative quest to find out the truth not only about Josh, but also about a larger mystery regarding her father’s murder.

I am missing you is a thoroughly watchable mystery full of emotional depth and layered characters, but it follows so many of the same narrative tropes of the Coben mysteries that it leaves you with a feeling of “I’ve seen this before.” It has all the same character archetypes we’re used to, and the twists follow the same pattern as other Coben shows. However, the catchy premise is enough to keep you entertained.

7.

fool me once

In terms of plot twists, fool me once Can claim the most of any Cobain show on Netflix. In fact, it may be a bit more complicated with a lot of plot features that make the narrative unreliable. But could this make for a hugely entertaining series? Absolutely…Okay, as long as you don’t read too much into it.

In fool me onceWe follow Maya Stern (brilliantly played by Michelle Keegan), a former military pilot who lost both her sister and husband in the same year. Since she suffers from extreme PTSD, her mind goes haywire, and things only get worse when she sees her husband, who is presumed dead, talking to their baby on her nanny cam. adamant Maya takes it upon herself to further investigate what she saw.

6.

Go away

It’s intriguing, brutal, and will leave you desperate to get to the next episode through its well-crafted cliffhangers – a trope the Cobden series is known for, from hidden identities to complicated family dramas and big clues.

Go away A solid and thoroughly entertaining series. You’ll have a lot of fun and thrills – and you’ll definitely get that adrenaline rush – but after the credits roll, you’ll almost certainly fast forward and forget about it as it fades into the growing library of Harlan Coben adaptations.

5.

Forest

a polish series, Forest, Is unique in its structure. The 6-part series is divided between two time periods: summer 1994 at Woodland Camp, and fall 2019. In both periods, we follow Paweł Kopinski. When a dead body is found surrounded by newspaper clippings about Powell, he naturally becomes drawn into the case. And as he investigates the murder, he discovers that his estranged sister, Kamila (Martina Byzkowska), missing for 25 years, may be alive.

This twisty drama will keep you guessing the entire time. Whereas Forest While it was intended as a limited series, it surprisingly wrapped up with some unresolved storylines. If any Harlan Coben limited series could benefit from another season, this is it.

He plays Adam Price, a family man who is visited by a mysterious woman who informs him that his wife Corinne (Dervla Kirwan) may have faked her abortion.
