It’s the last full week of 2025, and Netflix has plenty to watch over the last few days as we gear up for the big Christmas break. Below, we’ll pick three things that should be on your radar over the next seven days and look at all 42 new releases currently scheduled.
Looking ahead, we’ve already got a big list of what’s coming in January, although there’s still plenty more to be added as the lineup continues to be unveiled. The most anticipated new releases on Netflix this week
Emily in Paris (season 5)

New faces and new locations are big draws for this Netflix megahit returning just in time for the Christmas season. We will see Emily face some new challenges and visit Venice for the first time in addition to Rome and of course Paris. Among the new faces? Minnie Driver, Michelle LaRocque, Jonathan Keck and Brian Greenberg.
The official synopsis for Season 5 reads, “Now the head of Agence Grato Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything is falling into place, the idea of a job backfires, and the result turns into heartbreak and career setbacks. In search of stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens her closest relationships. Honesty Dealing with conflict, Emily emerges from deep connection, new clarity, and readiness to embrace new possibilities.
Riley (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
December has been full of SVOD debuts so far, but we think there’s one you should be most excited about Riley From Bleecker Street, headlined by Riz Ahmed and Lily James, with Sam Worthington and Willa Fitzgerald among the big draws for the cast.
The conspiracy thriller tells the story of a broker of lucrative payments between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten them, who breaks his own rules when a new client seeks his protection in order to survive. It received solid reviews upon its theatrical release later this summer, and we suspect that will continue to be the case at the end of the week.
61st street (Season 1-2)

AMC’s output on Netflix continues this week, with two new titles joining the catalog in the US: moonhavenA low-rated sci-fi series, and 61st Street, a seriously low-rated crime drama that ran for two seasons on both AMC and The CW, have now both finally been confirmed to be moving to the streamer.
Moses Johnson, a talented black high school athlete with a promising future, is suddenly pulled into Chicago’s notoriously corrupt criminal justice system. Wrongly labeled as a gang member, he becomes the target of a vengeful investigation, with police and prosecutors determined to pin the outcome of a deadly drug bust on him. As the pressure mounts, Moses and his lawyer, Franklin Roberts, find themselves fighting not only for his freedom but for his life at the center of a system eager to make an example.
