Spring is just around the corner, and for Netflix, that means a significant spring cleaning of its original library. March 2026 will see the departure of several long-running series, international gems, and a comedy legend. While many of these titles were produced for Netflix by outside studios (hence their licenses now expiring), the loss of the Bluth family will be felt by comedy fans around the world.

Note: The Last Kingdom, which is scheduled to leave Netflix US later this year, is leaving Netflix Canada first on March 9, as we covered here.

Budapest (2018)
The month will start with French comedy budapest. Inspired by true events, the film is based on two best friends and business school graduates who quit their boring corporate jobs to start a bachelor party planning agency in Hungary.
The film originally came to Netflix in March 2019 after a theatrical release in France. Now, just seven years after its digital debut, the license for this raunchy comedy has reached its end.

The Secret City (Seasons 1-2)
This high-stakes Australian political thriller starring Anna Torv is set to depart after a long stint in the service. Produced by Matchbox Pictures, secret city A tireless journalist was seen exposing a web of conspiracies in Canberra.
Netflix acquired global distribution rights to the series in 2018, but with the license from Foxtel expiring, both “The City and the City” and “Under the Eagle” chapters will be leaving the platform.
Departure on March 5th
Dogwasher (2021)
This Colombian dark comedy (original title loveparros) was a pandemic-era acquisition for Netflix. It tells the story of a mid-level drug mafia who refuses to give a loan to an up-and-comer, leading to a chaotic situation involving his loyal (and not so loyal) henchmen. After a five-year stint as a Netflix Original, the film is moving towards release.
Departure on 8th March
Immortals (Season 1) and Shadow (Season 1)
March 8 will be a double whammy for fans of international style.
First, We Lost the Turkish Vampire Series immortal (Yasamayanlar), which brought a moody, industrial aesthetic to the genre when it arrived in 2019.
This also includes the South African Vigilante series Shadow. Starring Palance Dladla, the series chronicles a former policeman with a rare condition that makes him immune to pain as he moves to help those the police cannot help. Both series are coming to a close seven years after their initial release.

The Resistance Banker (2018)
One of the most acclaimed Dutch films in Netflix’s library, resistance banker Walraven tells the true story of Van Hall, who bankrolled the Dutch resistance by creating a shadow bank during World War II. The film was a massive hit in the Netherlands and has been a staple of Netflix’s historical drama offerings for eight years.
Departure on 15th March
Arrested Development (seasons 1–5)
This is the big one. While Netflix famously “saved” arrested Development For seasons 4 and 5, the rights to the entire series, including the Netflix-produced seasons, are owned by Disney (through 20th Television). We’ve seen fears of this show being axed before, but it appears that the 2026 end date is the definitive end of the Bluth family’s residence on Netflix. If you haven’t finished Season 4’s “Fateful Consequences” remix, now is the time. Fingers crossed, like last time, the series ensures a last-minute extension, but no word yet.

Under Suspicion: The Weisfel Case Revealed (Season 1)
This Belgian true-crime documentary follows the high-profile court case of politician Bernard Wesfel, who was accused of murdering his wife in a hotel room in 2013. Following the standard licensing window for many of Netflix’s European documentary acquisitions, the series arrived in 2021 and is departing exactly five years later.

Yin Yang Master (2021)
not to be confused Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity (which was also released on Netflix), is a 2021 Chinese fantasy film based on the popular game onmoji. Starring Chen Kun and Zhou Xun, the film is a visual spectacle of CGI and martial arts. Its five-year license is now expiring.
Departure on 19th March
Brian Simpson: Live from the Mothership (2024)
In a surprisingly short window, Brian Simpson’s first Netflix special is set to depart just two years after its release. Netflix has been experimenting with smaller licensing deals for some stand-up specials lately, and it appears that this set, recorded at Joe Rogan’s club in Austin, is one of them.

Life of Speed: The Juan Manuel Fangio Story (2020)

Finally, for those F1 fans who have already binged drive to surviveThis documentary on the “Godfather” of Formula 1 is leaving the service. The film uses archival footage and interviews to explore how Juan Manuel Fangio won five world championships in the 1950s using cars that were basically “death traps”. It bows out after a six-year run.
